Terms of service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These terms explain the agreement between you and myHeritage when you create a workspace or use the service. Please read them before using the product.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using myHeritage, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Notice. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for managing access to your team workspace.
You may not share access in a way that defeats role or permission controls, impersonate another person, or create an account if you are not legally able to enter this agreement.
3. Your content and records
You retain ownership of the information, documents, and other content you add to myHeritage. You give us a limited permission to host, process, back up, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload your content, that it is accurate enough for your intended use, and that your use complies with applicable privacy, confidentiality, and recordkeeping obligations.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to break the law, harm others, store malicious software, probe or bypass security, interfere with service availability, scrape the service at unreasonable volume, or upload content that infringes another person's rights.
5. Availability, changes, and termination
We work to keep myHeritage reliable, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security work, or circumstances outside our control. Features may evolve as the product improves. We will avoid materially reducing paid functionality without reasonable notice when practical.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when needed to protect the service, comply with law, respond to nonpayment, or address a material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
6. Important limitations
myHeritage is an organizational tool. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, appraisal, title, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for professional review or an authoritative public record. You remain responsible for decisions made using information in the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without implied warranties and neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
7. Questions and changes
We may update these terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or by email. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
